AxisBIC ArrayPatch
CEO & co founder: Dr Waleed Faisal,
Based in Cork and a 2024 biotech spin out from UCC, ArrayPatch, co-founded by Dr Waleed
Faisal is developing DerMap™, a next-generation pain free dissolving microneedle
technology which penetrates the skin barrier, dissolves and releases medication precisely at
the target site. ArrayPatch was named the overall national winner of the 2025 Seedcorn
Competition. ArrayPatch has worked extensively with AxisBIC on business planning,
investor readiness and pitching to investors and secured IHPSU funding in 2025. Dr Waleed
also participated in the AxisBIC Entrepreneur Experience and Venture Academy events.
AxisBIC has been a hugely valuable partner for ArrayPatch as we’ve progressed from a UCC
biotech spin-out to a high-growth startup. Their support with business planning, investor
readiness, and pitch development helped us sharpen our story and engage confidently
with investors. The guidance we received through the Entrepreneur Experience and
Venture Academy was outstanding, and AxisBIC played an important role in supporting
our successful IHPSU funding in 2025.
