The Challenge
Furthr s Approach
Before engaging with Furthr, Silicate was
progressing strong scientific work but
needed support translating this into an
investable commercial narrative.
Furthr engaged with Silicate through a
structured and targeted support programme:
• Programme: 1:1 IHPSU Consultancy
Support, alongside participation in Pitch
Jam, which significantly strengthened the
investor story and pitch clarity
Key challenges included:
• A highly technical core proposition
focused on carbon dioxide removal
through enhanced weathering, achieved
by applying limestone to agricultural
land
• Type of Support: Financial model review,
development of the FDS and support across
the IHPSU application process
• Collaborators: Enterprise Ireland, Nova UCD,
University College Dublin, Breakthrough
Energy (part of the Bill Gates Foundation),
and Northwestern University, Chicago
• The need to develop a credible
commercial and investment strategy
to attract institutional investors,
including Enterprise Ireland
The outcome
The engagement delivered material
outcomes across funding, traction, and
execution:
• Business Growth and Traction: Major
commercial agreements secured with
Zurich Insurance, Klarna, and Milkywire,
with revenue expected to be recognised
commercially in the near term
• Funding Secured: Total raise of €1.35m,
including €350k from Enterprise Ireland
